Clear diesel is the diesel grade for vehicles licensed for the road.
Renway Energy provides insight into clear diesel’s advantages, common uses, and the regulations businesses must comply with.
Introduction to Clear Diesel
Clear diesel is the grade for vehicles licensed for the road. It carries the standard road fuel taxes. Like dyed diesel, it is ultra-low sulphur.
Commonly used in Canada’s commercial and industrial sectors, clear diesel is designed for on-road vehicles and is taxed differently from dyed diesel, which is used off-road.
The Benefits of Using Clear Diesel
Its main benefit is that it is legal in road vehicles. Dyed diesel is exempt from Ontario's fuel tax and is banned from any licensed motor vehicle in Ontario, so licensed trucks and vehicles run on clear.
Renway Energy supplies clear diesel by delivery and at its 5 Craig Street card lock in Brantford.
Clear Diesel and Fuel Quality
Renway's clear and dyed diesel are both ultra-low sulphur formulations. Clean, dry storage keeps either grade performing well.
Common Uses of Clear Diesel in Industry
Clear diesel is widely used by fleets, buses and trucks.
It suits any commercial or industrial vehicle licensed for the road.
Clear Diesel Regulations
Clear diesel is subject to Canadian regulations, especially regarding taxes and emissions standards.
It’s taxed as standard on-road fuel, unlike dyed diesel, which is exempt from certain taxes.
To avoid fines, businesses must comply with federal and provincial laws. Renway Energy can help you confirm which grade each vehicle and machine needs.
